Hi there and welcome to SKL Photography – Creative wedding photographers based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. I’m Simon, co-owner and main photographer behind the lens.
I spend most of my working life either taking images or in front of a computer screen. Rebecca, my wife & business partner, is the candid/second shooter on a wedding day but is mainly there to assist me. She prefers to look after the paperwork/invoicing side of things at home.
Our business started in 2009 with a little push from a group of friends. Sat at someone else’s wedding as a guest, armed with a Canon DSLR, I randomly caught other people laughing at jokes and making fools of themselves. At that point I was more into film photography. The technical side of digital photography was still new to me, but I knew I had a raw ability to see moments as they happened.
As the main photographer in our business, there was only one category that would help me reach my own personal goals. Wedding photography. It’s where the magic is. Where raw emotion, beauty and laughter are found everywhere. I strive to excel in every aspect of it. At every wedding I want to push myself and create striking images for couples to enjoy, years into the future. That’s where I come into my own. Rebecca happily driving the business, bookings and finances in the background.
